What is Repair & Protect?

Repair & Protect is the nationwide appliance repair network from Domestic & General that uses official manufacturer engineers for an expert service.

With over 2,900 engineers, we're the biggest specialist appliance repair network in the country.

And because our engineers are factory-trained and use official spare parts, we can repair a high percentage of appliances on the first visit. We offer a fixed fee with no hidden costs, and you can even choose to pay monthly at no additional charge.

What appliances are you able to repair?

We repair all major appliances including washing machines, dishwashers, fridge/freezers, ovens, hobs and cookers (both gas and electric). If you don't see your appliance listed, call us on 0800 18 38 999.

How much will it cost to repair my appliance?

We offer two kinds of repair. Our basic service ensures that your appliance is repaired promptly by the people who know it best - the manufacturer's own engineers. Our Repair & Protect service comes with an additional 3-month or 12-month protection against any further breakdowns, so you don't have to worry about any more unexpected bills. It also features fixed fees, monthly payment options and there's nothing to pay if we can't repair the initial fault .

Who will repair my appliance?

Who better to repair your appliance than the people who built it? Domestic & General work in close partnership with some of the world's most recognised household brands, which means your repair will be carried out by an official manufacturer engineer, using only genuine replacement parts.

How does “No-fix, no-fee” work?

Our Repair & Protect booking option comes with this promise: if we can't fix your current fault we won't charge you a penny, and we'll also cancel the 3-month or 12-month protection that comes with the repair.

Once the current fault has been fixed, if any further repairs are required these will fall under the 3-month or 12-month protection and will be carried out at no additional cost to you. The no fix, no fee promise does not apply to these repairs. If we can't fix these faults, we will either provide you with a replacement or a contribution towards a replacement, depending on the terms of the plan.

How soon will an engineer be sent out to me?

When you book a repair online, you can choose a convenient date for an engineer to visit your property and fix your appliance. Once you have booked your repair, we will contact you on the day of the repair to confirm your appointment time.

What's included in in the added protection?

You will be protected against any further breakdowns to your appliance - even if they have nothing to do with the original fault.

The plan pays for any further repairs our engineers carry out on your appliance after the initial fix. You can use the service as many times as you need, and if we decide your appliance is beyond repair or cannot be repaired and needs to be replaced, subject to the terms and conditions, we'll simply give you a brand-new one. How can I pay for my repair?

You can pay by credit card or debit card. There is also the option to pay monthly by Direct Debit.

Direct Debit is one of the safest methods of payment, as you are protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee.

What happens if the engineer is unable to repair my appliance?

If you've chosen our 'Repair & Protect' option, we won't charge you a penny in the unlikely event that the engineer is unable to repair the initial breakdown of your appliance.

If you've chosen our basic repair option, you may still have to pay any labour and call-out costs.
